Save Your Kids from Absent Parent Syndrome

As I look around more and more of my friends are taking on new jobs. Many of these jobs are hourly due to the fact that although they hold degrees(many of the hold Master’s Degrees), most larger companies are not hiring. These parents are trading their precious hours, for minimal dollars. Why? Because in order to keep up with the rising cost of groceries, utilities, gas and all the must haves……..they are being forced into a depressed work industry. It is not that these parents want to go and take a position and lose all flexibility and time….they HAVE to! So many of the kids are being placed into after school programs, or become latch-key kids, and the schools are faced with a lack of parent volunteers at a time when they are facing budget-cuts themselves.

What is the answer? entrepreneurship. Starting your own home-based, internet driven and social media pushed business. This can be a business that is of your own creation or you can find a reputable on-line company that follows a networking model to produce income. For me I know how difficult it can be to start your very own business and all the forms, marketing and etc. that goes along with doing so. My suggestions to parents that have stayed home……find a company that you are passionate about, that has a good reputation, strong brand, powerful and top of the line products, and constant online eduction/system that will help you reach your business income goals.

The advantages of this plan are the fact that you don’t have to create your own product or services…..which can be costly and almost impossible because you are competing with larger companies with larger pocketbooks. Another advantage is the fact that you don’t have to go get a business license, insurance, logo creation and all that a new business requires. A huge advantage in my opinion is that you will still own your own business within this company, allowing you to be your own boss, make your own hours and work wherever you want- you are completely mobile with internet and phone. You also will now qualify for many tax write-offs such as office materials, gas, car, food(business lunches/dinners), phone, internet, and products you purchase to promote your business. Even your initial start-up fee into the business can be a write-off.  Personally I think this is the best of both worlds. You can build your business at your speed and ultimately make a very large income, but you still are available to your children and family.

I knew that I did not want to trade my time for minimal dollars or put myself out there to make someone else a lot of money. I wanted to have a way to help show others how they too could make money from home or anywhere. These are businesses of people helping people to be their best. I would love to show you how to be your best…..please check out my website at If you are not a mom….but want the freedom lifestyle of an online business please still visit my website and I will put you in touch with someone on my team that would be perfect mentor to meet your needs! Always here to help…..Shea

You’re a pro girl! Great tips here…. I’m going to learn lots from you and your leadership abilities as well as your knowledge of internet marketing. Kudos!

Thank you Susan…I appreciate the positive feedback. Working smarter, not harder to help others find a better way to build an income and more freedom in their lifestyle. Check out my website at

This is the kind of thing I try to teach people. Can I expect a sequel?

Rick, I absolutely will have a follow-up to this post. I am passionate about helping others understand that we can leverage our time better, allowing us to become better parents, friends, community members and so on. If we can learn to stop working by the hour…which even as an attorney making quite a bit- you still are capped at some point because there are only so many working hours in a day. Don’t our children deserve to have a parent that is not absent, but present because afterall, they are the future!
